Weekend Bookings: Children's Party
What time can I access the venue for my party booking for setting up?
All our party hire options include a Party Host on site who will be there to greet you, serve refreshments for your guests to purchase, and clean up at the end.
Our standard Party Time is 12.30pm - 2.30pm. We allow access 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your booking time for any set up and clearing away required, giving you access 12.00pm - 3.00pm. We have found this is usually a sufficient amount of time.
Any extra time is subject to availability, and bookable/payable in advance. Extra time is £40 p/h.
Catering
Do you provide any catering packages?
Yes we do. Choose from our Build Your Own Party Package Options or one of our Pre-Set Party Packages. We work with you to build your perfect package and can cater for any dietary requirements.
We also offer drinks packages, if you wanted to provide your own food, we can still provide the drinks:
Kids Juice with unlimited refills - 50p per child
Tea & Coffee with unlimited refills - £20 for upto 20 Adults
We can also provide platters for Adults (Sandwiches/Savory/Sweet) - £10 per platter (serve approx. 10)
Can I provide my own catering?
We are happy for you to provide your own catering. However, as a registered food provide, we are unable to allow access to our kitchen. All food must already be prepared and not require refrigeration.
We will have drinks and snacks available for your guests to purchase on the day from our cafe, or alternatively you can chose one of our drinks packages.
Entertainment
Can I organise my own Bouncy Castle?
We are unable to accomodate external Bouncy Castle Companies as we have our own.
Can I organise my own Entertainer?
Yes of course. We are unable to accept Bouncy Castles from external companies, but you are more than welcome to organise your own entertainer.
Please ensure you check in advance how much set up and clearing away time your entertainer requires. We allow 30 minutes before the start of your booking, and upto 30 minutes after your booking. Any extra time required is bookable and payable in advance.
Do I need to clean up after my event?
We have recently made changes to our bookings as our volunteers were regularly being left to clean up after parties.
All bookings therefore now include a Party Host on site to ensure everything is left clean and tidy, and hopefully taking some of the stress away from you.
If you have provided your own catering, you are expected to take all of your own rubbish off-site with you.
Do I have to be a Member to book a children's party at the community centre?
Priority on children's party bookings is given to our members. Hire to non-members is at the discretion of the Trustees. We do offer discounted hire rates to our Members (you must have been a BCA Member for a minimum of 3 months at the time of booking to receive the discounted rate). We do not allow people to join as members just to get the discounted party rate (we are all volunteers who run the community centre and our discounted rate is a benefit and thankyou to our Members who support the community centre, attend our groups and events).
Weekly Room Hire Bookings
What is the minimum booking time?
If your class/group is 1 hour long, we would expect you to book a minimum of 1½ hours.
This is to ensure that you have enough time both before and after your class for any setting up (including taking payments and/or people signing in) and time at the end for clearing away and ensuring the room is ready for the next user (taking into account that people often linger behind after a class and chat).
We often have back to back bookings so if you book from 5pm - 6pm, you won't be able to access the room until 5pm, and you will need to ensure you have left the room, clean and tidy by 6pm as is highly likely we would have another group ready to enter at this time.
In some cases it may be that our venue is actually closed before the start of your booking, in which case our caretaker, or one of our volunteers, may only arrive to open the venue 5 minutes before your booking time.
Can I book 15 minutes extra?
We only allow extra time in 30 minute blocks.
Can you provide refreshments for my meeting/group?
Yes, we can arrange tea and coffee for £1 per head. Please request this when making your booking.
